Welcome to the November 4th edition of Maritime Beer Report, here is all the beer news fit to share.
Nine Locks Brewing says their next release is Scotch Ale and will be available in the next couple weeks, in cans and growlers. It will be 7.5% ABV and 22 IBU is reminiscent of the Scottish ales of the 1700s and 1800s. This strong, dark beer with ruby highlights is deeply malty. A smooth body exhibiting caramel with hints of dark grains leads to a crisp finish.
Due to customer requests they are brewing the Cream Ale again and it will only be on draft at the brewery. Another couple weeks before it's ready.
Propeller Brewing released its new winter seasonal, Coffee Porter, made with Java Blend Coffee Roasters Fog City Coffee. The Porter was a One Hit Wonder last year called Fog City Coffee Porter. The recipe was tweaked a bit but is pretty much same beer, brewed with Java Blend Fog City whole beans and "dry-hopped" with Java Blend Fog City ground coffee.
The 5.9% ABV and 35 IBU will be in 650 ml and growlers at the Propeller Shops on November 2nd and making its way to the NSLC and private stores towards end of the month.
