Picaroons Releases Melonhead for 2018

Photo from Picaroons
(Fredericton, NB) - Picaroons Traditional Ales says Melonhead is back and announces this years winner of the cat contest. This years winner is Henry Smith and his "cat mom" Jordan "he actually likes playing fetch and drinking from people glasses. He's sweet". Melonhead, a crisp pale ale infused with natural watermelon extract, will not be available in bottles this year but in 473 ml cans and of course on tap. Look for Melonhead cans on the shelves of Picaroons retail stores and ANBL stores.

Roof Hound Releases Hoppy Seconds Pale Ale

(Digby, NS) - Roof Hound Brewing released an experimental Pale Ale called Hoppy Seconds. The beer earned the moniker because Roof Hound reused the massive amounts of dry hops used in their Big Stink IPA. Les Barr says Hoppy Seconds is easier drinking than the Big Stink but still has that citrus and savoury flavour and creamy mouth feel. Check it out the 6% ABV beer now at the brewery and select taps.

Beer Review - Rare Bird Pale Ale

This review is the offering from Authentic Seacoast Brewery, it is the Rare Bird Craft Beer Pale Ale. it is a strong beer at 7 % ABV. It is a little darker than I expected being copper in color I didn't see a lot in carbonation and it poured with a thin head. The aroma is hoppy and a slight sweet "fruity" smell. It has light carbonation and a medium body. It has a very slight dry aftertaste but for the most part I get an malty, toffee sweetness and there isn't that alcohol burn you get sometimes from high alcohol beers. It is a great drinking beer and a nice addition to the Maritime craft beer family.
