2 Crows Brewing Releases Forever Young: A Foedre-Aged Brett Saison with Rose

Photo from 2 Crows Brewing
(Halifax, NS) - 2 Crows Brewing are releasing Forever Young is a Foedre-Aged Brett Saison with Rose on Saturday. Brewed with Pilsner malt, Vienna malt, and malted and raw wheat, and then hopped lightly in the boil with Sterling and Hallertau Blanc. This beer was fermented in their foedre that previously held Cognac. After fermentation with their house saison culture and an experimental Brettanomyces strain, they conditioned the beer on local rosehips for three months before transferring the beer back to stainless steel to condition further with a small amount of rosewater before carbonation and packaging. The resulting beer is earthy, floral, lightly funky, and dry. The beer clocks in at 8.5% and 29 IBU.

Upstreet Craft Brewing Releases First Anniversary Beer

(Charlottetown, PE) - Upstreet Craft Brewing is turning one and to commemorate the milestone they are releasing a beer, De Novo I, a 6 % ABV Saison Farmhouse Ale. The meaning of De Novo is starting from the beginning; anew.
Upstreet says "Saison is a very broad style, with no two alike. Known for complex flavours with a dry finish, ours is no exception. We used a simple ingredient list of Maritime malt, a sacch and brett yeast blend from a lab in Ontario and New Brunswick Goldings hops. These contribute light candy and funky flavours, with just enough bitterness and hops."
Upstreet is planning to brew a special Belgian-style beer each year and release it on their anniversary weekend. This one will be released at 6:00 PM  on Friday, June 24th during a full slate of events during Upstreet's Birthday Weekend.
